Ouida (pronounced wee-duh) is an American singer/songwriter, producer and DEI activist from San Francisco, California.
Her music blends influences from jazz, alternative R&B and neo-soul with anthemic pop melodies and warm, visual lyricism. As a songwriter and producer, Ouida’s songs craft a lens into the relationships and cultural experiences that shaped her, unpacking themes of belonging, healing and self-empowerment.
Ouida released her lo-fi single, Coffee (Ride with You) at the end of 2020, followed closely by its music video that explores identity in the Filipinx diaspora and sparked international radio play and features in a variety of publications, and a title as one of Nylon Magazine’s rising musicians in 2021.
Her sophomore release Puerto Princesa and its music video released in March 2022, showcased Ouida's diverse writing style with an alternative r&b-pop anthem while continuing themes of cultural celebration and exchange. The music video garnered broadcast rotations on California Music Channel (CMC) and prompted press features in podcasts, local radio stations, and online publications.
Her newest single Nice To Meet You was released in April of 2022 and will be followed by a music video exploring her San Francisco roots and identity. Upcoming music in the works include a feature on rapper Ruby Ibarra's upcoming album and a collaboration with Irish rapper JyellowL.
