Artist Bio
Brama Sukarma, a versatile musician, was born in San Jose where he initially explored his passion for jazz trombone. His early music taste fluctuated, reminiscent of the pop-punk notes that can often be heard in the Bay Area, a significant inspiration during his middle school days. However, by the time he reached high school, his ears were tuned almost exclusively to jazz, until his musical world was transformed by OK Computer's opening notes of Airbag.
Pursuing his inclination towards jazz trombone, Brama moved to New York. Though he imagined a life immersed in the jazz scene, he discovered that it failed to satisfy his musical cravings. Over the years, he expanded his musical toolkit, studying classical composition, composing film scores and theater works, penning down his own songs and learning the fine art of production and mixing. This has helped him carve out a niche in the music industry and define his unique sound.
Brama's musical universe is significantly influenced by industry stalwarts like Prince, David Bowie, Herbie Hancock, Kate Bush, Brian Eno, and Miles Davis. What he admires most about these luminaries, and emphasizes on in his journey, is their ability to evolve with time, shifting their sounds as they continue to grow, thus paving the way for dynamic and vibrant music.
