Artist Bio
With her recognizable nerve, Silje Halstensen, known as Bendik, has established herself as a distinctive and uncompromising voice in Norwegian music. Since her debut in 2012, she has, with raw passion, unprocessed lyrics and always uplifting productions, walked her lifeline through everything from indie rock to synthpop – and captivated audiences at festivals such as Roskilde, Øya and Bergenfest. Whether on albums, radio or from the edge of the stage, the “Perfekt” singer has made her music a place for both heartache and hope.
Now Bendik is back with new music. The single “Hold ut” is a soulful pop ballad with piano and vocals in focus. The song was co-produced with Kastel (known from collaborations with Undergrunn and Jonas Benyoub), and tells the story of finding a love that feels safe enough to heal old wounds.
“Hold ut” marks the start of a new release round that leads up to an upcoming EP and album, before Bendik embarks on tour. Since her previous album Liv (2022), the Bodø native with a Bergen dialect has been on tour, started her own management, written and performed theater music at Det Norske Teatret, participated in 71° nord and guested on Hver gang vi møtes.
Contrasts have always been a key word for Bendik – and she will continue to do so in the future. The audience can look forward to more music throughout the year.
