Washington, DC based recording artist, Matt McGhee has been independently making a name for himself all over the world for the past several years. Originally hailing from Prince George’s County, Maryland, the rapper/producer has been writing since he was 7 years old. McGhee’s mother recognized his passion for music and put him in piano lessons which sparked his interest in producing his own beats at the age of 13.
From 15, Matt has been releasing music online and building a buzz all throughout the DMV area. With his
name growing in the city, McGhee was able to perform on bills with well known acts like, Oshun, Cam’Ron, Danny Brown, Xavier Omär & GoldLink as well as selling out his own solo shows. He’s also had the privilege of performing at A3C Festival and SXSW and even gained a spot on the Berlin-based internet series COLORS. In 2021, Matt was a part of a Spotify campaign highlighting DMV artists with billboards around the city.
Although music has taken him around the world, the DMV will always be home.
